HEMBREE, MR. ALVIN A. - 81, of S. Patton Ave., Rockwood, passed away Tues., Feb. 23rd, at his home. He was owner and operator of the Double A Grocery for 21 years, member and deacon of the First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, Rockwood, member of Knights of Pythias, Oak Leaf #49, Rockwood, was initiated in 1962, held the offices of past chancellor, financial secretary, trustee, treasurer, Holding Board Relief Committee, received 25 Year Membership Award, Distinguished Service Award, Golden Spur Award, member of the Grand Lodge of Tennessee, was initiated in 1982, held offices as grand trustee, grand treasurer, past grand chancellor, deputy grand chancellor. Mr. Hembree was a devoted, distinguished and cherished member of the Brotherhood for 36 years, 10 months. He was preceded in death by parents, Lawrence B. and Ethel Lee Childs Hembree; brothers, Lawrence and James Hembree and is survived by wife, Arleva H. Hembree, Rockwood; sons and daughters-in-law, A. David and Jenny Hembree, Rockwood, Larry L. and Donna Hembree, Rockwood; grandchildren, Wade, Mark, and Kevin Hembree, Meredith DeNobriga; great-grandchildren, Walker and Nathan Hembree; sister, Emma Marsh, Rockwood. Funeral service will be Thursday evening at 8:00 p.m. from the chapel of Evans Mortuary with Rev. Ron Buck officiating. Graveside service and interment will be held Friday morning at 11 a.m. in the Oak Grove Cemetery with Bro. Albert Griffin and Bro. Bob Holder officiating. Family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6-8 at the Evans Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Christian Church, Rockwood. Evans Mortuary of Rockwood is serving the family of Mr. Alvin A. Hembree.
