Phyllis Alean Doyle, the daughter of Edmon and Alean (Knight) Montgomery, was born on September 19, 1935 on a farm in Jewell, Kansas. She passed away on March 14, 2011 at Brodstone Memorial Hospital in Superior, Nebraska at the age of 75 years, 5 months and 25 days.
Phyllis attended grade school at Sweet Hill and graduated from Montrose High School with the class of 1953. On April 1, 1956 she was united in marriage to Joe Doyle at the Methodist Church, Superior, Nebraska. This union was blessed with 3 children.
Phyllis was baptized at Eagen Park Baptist Church in McCook, Nebraska in 1960. She loved life and her family. Her special hobbies were her crafts, which she so enjoyed. She took up embroidering quilts the last 8 years and gave as keepsakes to her grandchildren as wedding gifts. She also made baby quilts for her great-grandchildren. Phyllis was always known for her homemade pies and noodles which her family enjoyed.
She was a member of the Friendship Circle Club, Webber Homemakers. She helped serve with the Lord's Acre Sale at the Webber Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother Richard "Slim" Montgomery.
She is survived by her husband Joe of Superior, Nebraska; daughters Becky Behrends and husband Glen of Courtland, Kansas and Rhonda Elledge and husband Steve of Webber, Kansas and son Darrell Doyle of Superior, Nebraska; 4 grandchildren: Nicholas Elledge and wife Laura of Nelson, Nebraska; Crystal Meyer and husband Matthew of Lexington, Nebraska; Brett Behrends and fiancé Leslie Kile of Webber, Kansas and Kendra Elledge and special friend Derek Lipker of Superior, Nebraska; 3 great grandchildren: Nathan and Jasper Elledge and Brayton Meyer; sister Maxine Hall and husband Dean, brother Marvin Montgomery and wife Berniece all of Superior, Nebraska; and sister-in-law Jeaniece Montgomery of Guide Rock, Nebraska; nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
