Officer David K. Lesniewski, DSN 4921, was commissioned as a Police Cadet on 11/04/1963. As a Cadet he worked at Records/Identification Section, Central News and Reporting Division, and the Identification Section. While he was in the Identification Section he briefly left the department on 03/11/1965 and returned on 10/21/1968, when he entered the Police Academy. After the academy he was assigned to the 4Th District and remained there until 02/08/1988 when he was transferred to the 5Th District. He stayed there until he retired on 11/19/1992 with a total of 29.04 years of service. During his career he was awarded a Letter of Commendation on 10/03/1979. He was also a veteran of the United States Army and attained the rank of a Specialist 4Th Class.
