Born to Larry & Maxine Bellman in the summer of 1953 - right after the 4th of July. Jerry was named after his father's late brother of the same name.

Jerry was the middle child - with an older brother Steve and a younger brother Robert.

He married his first wife Christie in 1973 and had two children...a boy and a girl who he loved very much.

Jerry was an auto mechanic by trade and worked for many years in this industry in the state of Maryland and later in Florida where he moved in 1994.

In the fall of 2009 Jerry was diagnosed with bone marrow cancer. The name of which is "Myelofibrosis"... and it's pretty rare. It can be caused by a variety of things; but in his case it was most likely caused by exposure to industrial chemicals like Benzene ( a solvent ). He could have been exposed to something like that; but it's hard to know.

He married his second wife Juanita in 2011 shortly before he passed away. But they had spent the past 17 yrs. living together and were definately soul mates.

Jerry loved all forms of music. Music played a pivotal role in his life. His idol in the 70's was Jimi Hendrix. He also loved Alice Cooper,The Grateful Dead, Iron Maiden, Def Leppard, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Jethro Tull, the Eagles, the Doors, the Moody Blues, Fleetwood Mac, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Pink Floyd, Genesis, David Bowie, Lou Reed, Ted Nugent, James Taylor, Foreigner, Journey, Cat Stevens, Steely Dan, The Alan Parson's Project, Dan Fogelberg, Steve Winwood, Steve Miller Band, Steven Stills, Todd Rundgren, Yes, Queen, Rush, Aerosmith, Renaissance and so many more. Jerry's favorite pastime was to go to concerts with his friends. And he saw many of these bands live.

Jerry was as fantastic musician in his own right. He was a self-taught harmonica player who loved to jam with other blues & jazz folks at local venues.

One of his most thrilling musical achievements was to play with the legendary Bo Diddley, who also lived in Florida. Bo died in 2008 and it is my personal wish that they are playing together up in Heaven, along with Jimi and all the others who have gone before him.

Jerry died of complications caused by his cancer, which had not been stopped by chemo. However he was a courageous fighter to the end. His children, wife and others will miss him for many years to come.
