John Wheeler Bunner 97, of 102 Oscar Street died at 11:30 p.m. Monday in the St. Clara's Hospital. He had resided in Lincoln for the past 18 years although he had also resided here previously. Mr. Bunner was the last member of his family.
The body was taken to Wright Funeral home and will be removed to the family residence Wednesday afternoon to remain until 10 a.m. Thursday when it will be returned to the funeral home. Services will be at 2 p.m. from Wrights and the Rev. T. H. Sanders will officiate. Burial will be in Union Cemetery.
Mr. Bunner was born in Spencer County, Indiana January 25, 1853 the son of Phillips and Nancy Bunner. He married Laura Ann Deeds in Indiana in 1887 and she died February 8 1932. He was a carpenter by trade.
Surviving are two sons Pearl Bunner and Forest Bunner of Lincoln, and a daughter Mrs. Sadie Carlyle of Muscatine, Iowa. Two daughters Mrs. Maude Bunch and Mrs. Mary Northerner preceded him in death. There are 26 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
