C. Emma Ross, English Leighty 90, of Mooresville, formerly of Petersburg, IN, died December 9, 2003. She retired in 1973 as Postal Clerk for the United States Postal Service, Downtown Branch, Indianapolis. Mrs. Leighty was a member of the Speedway Baptist Church, Indianapolis.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. December 12, 2003 in Carlisle & Son Funeral Chapel, Mooresville, with calling from 11 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in Washington Park Cemetery East.
She was the widow of Douglas Allen English and Homer Madison Leighty. She was also preceded in death by daughters, Norma Jean Helms and Joan Swain and sons, Doin and John Leighty. Survivors include sons, William Allen English and Tom and David Leighty; daughters, Jane Krodel, Elzena Strain and Mary Jane Ingersoll; brother, Chester Ross; sister, Sarah Dunbar; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.
