William W. Wurst, 94, died Monday, March 14, 2011, at his residence. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday March 18, 2011, at 10 a.m. at St. Jude the Apostle R.C. Church in Hamburg, N.J. Interment will follow at North Hardyston Cemetery. Friends may call at the F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, 1 Main St., Franklin, N.J., on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mr. Wurst, son of the late Walter and Elizabeth Wurst, was born in Newark, N.J., June 21, 1916. Moving to the Lake Tamarack section of Hardyston, N.J., in 1953, Mr. Wurst resided there until moving to Indian Fields, Hardyston, 12 years ago. He was a printer and co-owner, along with his wife, of Wilcox Press in Hamburg, retiring in 1984. Mr. Wurst was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He was a member of Sgt. Francis M. Glynn American Legion Post No. 132 of Franklin, and the Catholic War Veterans. Mr. Wurst was a member of the former Franklin Kiwanis Club, which was instrumental in the construction of the Franklin Mineral Museum. He was also a member of the Hardyston Township Senior Citizens, and formerly served on the board of directors of North Hardyston Cemetery Association. Mr. Wurst was honored by the Hardyston Township Middle School, naming its school library after him. He is survived by his wife, Helen (Hamilton) Wurst; two sons, James Wurst and his wife, Rosa Rivera, of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Stephen Wurst and his wife, Jan Callahan, of Fulton, N.Y.; a brother, Edward Wurst of Hardyston Township, and a granddaughter, Elena. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association , 400 Morris Ave., Suite 251, Denville, N.J. 07834.
