Marian Morgan Solace died at age 90 in Long Beach, CA. She was born December 6, 1920 to Rev. Dr. Francis Grover and Mary Letita Doak Morgan in Beaufort, SC. In 1945 she married V. Lester Solace who died in 1993. Marian holds a BA from Lenoir Rhyne College and a MLS from Immaculate Heart College. Marian taught briefly in a one-room schoolhouse before joining the US Navy. She served during WWII as a LT JG. Marian served 11 years as a Los Angeles County librarian and as head of children's services. Marian is survived by her daughters, Leslie Burrill of Coos Bay, OR and Joanne and husband, Paul Howard of New York City, granddaughters, Sarah Wischmeyer, Joan and husband, Jeremy McKay; grandson, Mark and wife, Rosita Wischmeyer; and sister, Virginia townsend.
