BRADHAM, M.D., William GlennAge 57, of Brentwood, TN, formerly of Florence, SC, died Friday, March 18, 2011. Dr. Bradham was born in Sumter, SC. He was the first at Highland Park United Methodist Church Boy Scouts Troop 402 to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout, the God and Country Award, the Silver, Gold, and Bronze Palms and to become a member of the Order of the Arrow. He received his Bachelors Degree in Psychology/Sociology in May, 1977 from Francis Marion College, received his Masters Degree in Applied Behavioral Psychology from Francis Marion College in December, 1982 and graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina at Charleston in 1987 with a MD. During his time in Florence, he was a Master Counselor at the Florence County Alcohol and Drug Abuse Center. He served his General Surgery Residency at East Tennessee State University. He then moved to Brentwood, TN to open a private surgical practice at Southern Hills Medical Center in Nashville, TN and later relocated his practice to Nashville at the Centennial Medical Center. He was a member of the American College of Surgeons. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth M. Bradham, who died in 1999 and by his paternal and maternal grandparents. Surviving are his father, William C. Bradham, Jr. of Florence, SC; sister, Brenda R. Bradham of Florence, SC; partner, Alan Skankey of Brentwood, TN; paternal aunt and uncle, Doris and Hub Norris of Florida; maternal uncles, Thomas C. Mixon of Florence, SC and Sammy Lee Mixon of Chester, SC; eleven cousins and a special friend, Nancy Schafer of Myrtle Beach, SC. Memorials may be made to Room In The Inn, 705 Drexel Street, Nashville, TN 37203 or to the Florence Area Humane Society, PO Box 4808, Florence, SC 29502. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2011 in the Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Florence Memorial Gardens.
