Patsy Louise Parada, 45, died Nov. 8, 2002, near Roseburg, in an automobile accident.

She was born Oct. 28, 1957, to Wilsey Lester and Beatrice Naomi (Brittian) Dunn in Lancaster, Calif.

She graduated from Antelope High School in 1975.

Mrs. Parada met Jose Saul Parada in Los Angeles in 1978 and they were married Dec. 30, 1979, in Long Beach, Calif.

They made their home in South Gate, Calif., before moving to West Los Angeles. The family then moved to Houston, Texas. The Paradas have lived in Brookings since 1988.

She worked at Helen's Day Care and in health care as a certified nursing assistant for the last 12 years. She enjoyed helping others, especially the elderly and their families.

Mrs. Parada was a member of Church of the Nazarene, where she sang in the choir and volunteered in other departments at the church.

She was a devoted wife, mother and loyal friend. She had a radiant smile, hearty laugh and generous heart, her family said.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband of 22 years; son Saul Anthony, and daughter Emilia Beatrice; brothers Albert Dunn, Jim Dunn and Howard Dunn; sisters, Wanda Gilbert, Thelma Sorrow and Frances Lyons; uncle, Price Dunn, aunts Lilian Richard and Helen Brittian along with many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services in Brookings will be at 10 a.m. today (Nov. 13) at Church of the Nazarene.

Funeral and interment will be in Lancaster, Calif., Friday, Nov. 15.

Arrangements are under the direction of Redwood Memorial Chapel.
