Nelle Zimmerman Christner was the daughter of James S. and Evaline Coe Zimmerman. She was born on their farm about 4 miles south of Elkhart, on what is now County Road 7. Nelle and Irvin Christner (son of Aaron and Elizabeth Christner) were married in Elkhart on December 28, 1901. They moved to Los Angeles about 1913. Nelle and Irvin had no children. Irvin moved to Kalamazoo, Michigan, where he died in 1964.
