LAYTON - June LaRue Watkins returned peacefully to her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, April 11, 2006 surrounded by some of her loving family.

LaRue was born on June 26, 1925 in Whiterocks, Utah. She was the second child of Alexander Sessions and Mary Erma Moosman Sessions. LaRue graduated from Uintah High school in Vernal, Utah.

LaRue was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in the Texas, Louisiana Mission. She faithfully served in many different callings throughout her life. Relief Society President, Junior Sunday School Coordinator and Primary are just a few.

LaRue married the love of her life Bruce Watkins on February 9, 1951 in the Salt Lake Temple. One year later they started their family with the birth of a daughter in 1952. Three more would follow, a son in 1953, a daughter in 1960 and another daughter in 1964.

LaRue spent her entire life caring for her family. Her life was one of service and love to those around her. She was always helping ones in need.

LaRue was a great cook. She loved to sew, quilt and raise a garden. Reading was one of her great pass times.

LaRue is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Bruce Watkins, daughters: Gwen Sphar of Syracuse, UT; Janis (George) Fleming of Houston, TX; Colleen (Ron) Pacheco of Syracuse, UT; and one son Kent (Tess) Watkins of Utah/China. She is also survived by sister, Eula (Duane) Price of Centerville, UT; brother, Dean (Dorris) Sessions of Gunlock, UT; and brother, Barney (Lloy) Sessions of Vernal, UT; 16 grandchildren, Shane (Jessica) Brunson, Eric (Lacie) Brunson, Becky (Jace) Dalton, Amy (Matt) Tolley, Christy Sphar, David Sphar, Shelly Sphar, Keegan Watkins, Vanessa Watkins, Travis Murray, Tyler Fleming, Keri Harris, Trent Harris, Steven Harris, Tasha Pacheco and Morgan Pacheco, and 13 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her father, Alexander Sessions and by her mother Mary Erma Moosman Sessions.

Mom and grandmother you were a great example to us all and you will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 17, 2006 at 11 a.m. at Lindquists Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends and family may call Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.
