Edward Joseph Thilmony, 82, of Danville, formerly of Armstrong, died at 3:15 a.m. Tuesday (March 22, 2011) at the Veterans Affairs Illiana Health Care Palliative Care Unit in Danville.

He was born on Nov. 6, 1928 in Rock Island to William and Cleo Bruner Molloy. He and his brother James were adopted in 1940 and raised by John and Mayme Thilmony of Rankin. He married Paula Swartz on June 9, 1973 in Perrysville, Indiana. She died on Sept. 20, 1984. He was also preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Dakota and a brother, William Molloy.

Survivors include two sons, Ted (Dawn) Thilmony of Joliet and Tim Thilmony of Hoopeston; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, James (Geneva) Thilmony of Rankin; two sisters, Margaret Parlier of Peoria and Esther Bryner of Neponset, Illinois and several nieces and nephews.

He served in the U.S. Army.
