Funeral services for Mack Bass, 76, were conducted from teh chapel of Colonial Funeral Home Tuesday, April 19, at 2 p.m. The Rev. Keith Gordon and the Rev. Bartis Harper officiated. Interment was in Old Columbia Cemetery.
Mr. Bass died Sunday, April 17, at Marion County General Hospital.
A native of Marion County, born June 30, 1906, to Robert Fulton and Florence Bozeman Bass, he was a member and deacon of East Columbia Baptist Church, a retired cattleman and owner of a tung oil farm.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Rozella Bass of Columbia; two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Billie Jean) Salter of Monroe, La., and Mrs. John Ross (Peggy Jo) Daniels of Poplarville; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, two brothers, Paul Bass of Wise, Va., and Joe Bass of Houston, Texas; three sisters, Mrs. Worth Tullos of Spring Cottage Community, Mrs. Bruce Byrd of Pensacola and Mrs. John McGinnis of Mobile.
Pallbearers were Rick Salter, Craig Salter, Steven Daniels, Damon Johnston, Frank Williams, all grandsons, and Frank Fortenberry.
