WILLIAM L. PRESTON, JR.
Eillism L. Preston, Jr. of 93069 Applegate Trail, Cheshire, died Dec. 3. He was 75.

William was born in Kansas Dec. 18, 1904. He moved to Aurora, with his family at the age of 8. He was married to Genevieve Whittley in Myrtle Point, Dec. 22, 1926. The couple owned and operated a grocery store in Cheshire for 17-1/2 years until retiring in 1969.

Preston was a member of the National Quarterhorse Association. He bred and showed cutting horses.

Survivors include his wife, Genevieve, of Cheshire; a daughter, Betty Abingdon of New Orleans, La.; two brothers: Jeff and Lee, Yachats; three sisters: Olive Gibson of Madras, Minnie Watson of Oregon City and Florence Larsen of Canby; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Dec. 6 at Murphy Funeral Home, Junction City with the Rev. Gilbert Knox officiating. Private interment was at Rest Lawn Cemetery. Donations may be made in his memory to the Junction City Fire Department.
