Services will be conducted at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, 8801 Mansfield Rd., Shreveport, Louisiana for Fred A. "Alto" Desoto, 88, of Shreveport, LA. on Friday, July 5, 1996 at 10 am. Officiating will be Dr. Step Martin of Calvary Baptist Church where Mr. Desoto was a member. Internment will be in Centuries Memorial Park.
He entered into rest Saturday, June 29, 1996 at Shreveport, LA after a lengthy illness. Mr Desoto was a native of Rambin area of DeSoto Parish near Mansfield. He is the son of Joseph Neville Desoto and Fannie Cranford and lived in Shreveport for 70 years.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Amy Watts Desoto; three daughters, Dorothy Desoto,Gloria Eubanks , Cindy (Whittle) Mayo; six sons, Fred Jr. Desoto, Jim Pierce, John Earl Desoto, Bobby Joe Desoto, Donald Ray Desoto, Ricky Dean Desoto; one sister, Susie Clanton; one brother, Buford DeSoto.
