During World War I served in France as Captain of 307th Ammunition Train,82nd Division,A.E.F.,and was stationed at Ehrenbreitstein,Germany,with the army of occupation.
Prior to the war he was a member of the Richmond Light Infantry Blues and held the rank of First Lieutenant with this old military organization.
When he returned from overseas duty he became associated in business with the Virginia Public Service Corporation.
Married the former Miss Julia Redford of Richmond,survived by his wife,a son,Charles Carroll Bodeker,Jr(1908-1983) of South Hill,two sisters.Mrs.Albert T.August,Sr of Richmond and Mrs.E.T.Ellis of New York and a brother,J.Lansing Bodeker of Richmond.
Died at the United States Veterans Hospital at Bay Pines,near St.Petersburg,Fla.
