Hazel G. Snider obituary, Observer-Reporter, Washington (Washington County), Pennsylvania, 3 February, 1976

Hazel Gregg Snider, 80, of 575 Walnut Street, Waynesburg, died at 8:45 a.m. Wednesday, February 2, 1983, in Greene County Memorial Hospital. She had been ill for two days.

She was born in Greene County on March 30, 1902, a daughter of Charles Edward and Cora Berryhill Gregg.

Mrs. Snider had spent most of her life in Greene County. She was a member of the Washington Street United Methodist Church, the John Corbly Chapter of the DAR, the Emerald Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star, the Florida Retired Teachers’ Association and the National retired Teachers’ Association.

She was a graduate of Jefferson High School and attended Waynesburg College. She received her B.S. in education from Florida Southern University and did post graduate work at the University of Florida in Gainesville.

Mrs. Snider was a school teacher in Greene County and in Polk County, Fla., for 23 years.

Her first husband, Charles Gay Brown, died February 17, 1940. Her second husband, Albert M. Snider, died May 16, 1976.

Surviving are two stepdaughters, Mrs. Kathleen Rinehart of Waynesburg, Mrs. David (Shirley) Katlan (sic) of St. Louis, Mo.; a stepson, Duane M. Snider of Hundred, W.Va.; a sister, Mrs. Helen Bayard of Waynesburg and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are three sisters, Edna Orndoff, Zella Ganelle Gregg and Cora Delphene Gregg.

SNIDER - Friends of Hazel Gregg Snider of 575 Walnut Street, Waynesburg, who died Wednesday, February 2, 1983, will be received at the Glise E. Mariner and Samuel A. Milliken Funeral Home, 197 North Maiden Street, Waynesburg, from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 3 to 9 p.m. on Friday. Services will be held in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 5, with the Rev. Ralph W. Brownfield officiating. Burial in Green Mount Cemetery.
