Elmer was born in California in Dec 1894 to Frank and Jessie M. Anderson Allen. His father, Frank was born in 1868 in Minnesota and mother, Jessie in 1876 in Idaho. (She died in 1957 in Placer, California. I am unsure what happened to Elmer's father, Frank.)
Elmer had an older sister, Audere Anne born Oct 24, 1892. Audere was named after their paternal grandmother. (Audere died on April 21, 1980 in Placer, California. Her name was Audere Anne Allen Clinkenbeard Bircher.)
By 1899, Elmer's mother, Jessie had married for a second time. Her second husband was Charles Albright, a farmer. Per the 1900 federal census, Jessie, Audere and Elmer lived with Charles in Redwood, Santa Clara, California. Jessie had three more children with Charles Albright, Lester E. in 1900, Leah I. in 1906 and Lyle R. in 1909.
Elmer passed away in 1908 and is buried with his paternal grandparents, Abner Wright Allen and Audere Ann Cooper Allen and his aunt, Anna Allen in Riverside, California.
