Helen E. Thompson
Mrs. Helen E. Thompson, 87,
Altoona, died Wednesday
evening, Feb. 18, 2004, at
Altoona Hospital after a
lengthy illness.
She was born July 24, 1916,
in Altoona, daughter of
Stewart L. and Millicent
(Jones) Sperry. She married
Louis C. Thompson Aug. 31,
1933, in Wellsburg, W.Va. He
died in November 1978.
Mrs. Thompson was a
Jehovah's Witness.
Surviving are four children:
David S.Thompson of
Versailles, Ind., Elizabeth L.
Hammaker of Shippensburg.
Charles R. Thompson of
Altoona and Marilyn A.
Cartwright of Altoona; 13
grandchildren; and 27 great-
grandchildren.She was preceded
in death by a brother,
James Sperry, in 1991.
Friends will be received
from 1 to 2 p.m. today, Feb. 21,
2004, at E. Merrill Smith
Funeral Home Inc., 2309 Broad
Ave., Altoona. Memorial services
will be held at 2 p.m.
today, Feb. 21,2004, at E.
Merrill Smith Funeral

with Bill Edwards officiating.
Interment at Alto-Reste
Park.
