KINGSVILLE: Frances Nixon Boyd, a longtime resident of Kingsville, passed away in Boerne, Texas on Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at the age of 92. She was born on October 2, 1919, in Cherokee, Texas to Charles and Ermina Nixon.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Newell Boyd.
Mrs. Boyd is survived by two sons, Newell D. Boyd, II of Houston, Texas and Stephen W. Boyd of San Antonio, Texas; daughter, Barbara Boyd Marlow of Ft. Worth; grandchildren, Darby Boyd, Trevor Boyd, Lauren Dunwoody, Tracy Turner, Seth Boyd, Blake Boyd, and Scotty Boyd. She also was blessed with seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will take place from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p .m. on Friday, March 25, 2011 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will take place from 8:30 a.m. until 12:00 noon on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 26, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church, 120 North Fourth Street, Kingsville. with Rev. Sheldon Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Kingsville at Chamberlain Cemetery.
Services are entrusted to Ebensberger-Fisher Funeral Home, 111 East Rosewood, Boerne, Texas and Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas.
