Woody" Alexander, 80, died at 5:55 a.m. March 25, 2011, at The Meadows of Ottawa-Glandorf in Glandorf.

He was born October 25, 1930, in Lima to Karl A. and Vera L. Jackson Alexander, who preceded him in death. On May 23, 1953, he married Alice Rice, who survives in Ottawa.

Mr. Alexander retired in 1991 as a lineman from the Ohio Power Company. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Ottawa. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was a life member of the American Legion Post 63 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9142, both in Ottawa, and had served as commander of the American Legion in Cridersville. He enjoyed fishing, camping and sports, especially The Ohio State University Buckeyes and the Cincinnati Reds.

Survivors also include five children, Diana (Ron) Saum, of Fort Jennings, Jeff (Shelia) Alexander and Beth (Marty) Warnimont, both of Ottawa, Kristine (Bob) Williams, of Leipsic, and Matthew (Lindsay) Alexander, of Findlay; 17 grandchildren, Brian (Autumn) Saum, Kelly (Matt) Dubè, Scott (Jamie) Saum, Emily (Josh) Miller, Neal Wagner, Steven Wagner, Melissa Warnimont, Jenna Warnimont, Tyler Alexander, Blake Alexander, Riley Alexander, Michelle Williams, Nikki Williams, Ashley Williams, Lauren Alexander, Caylin Alexander and Amelia Alexander; 2 great-grandchildren, Owen and Sam Dubè; a sister, Barbara Neiford, of Leesburg, Fla.; two nephews, Steven and Jimmie Neiford; and a niece, Sandra Lee.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Johnathon Saum.

Services will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at Trinity United Methodist Church, Ottawa. The Rev. Lynda Lockwood will officiate.
