Adam C. Goodling of richfield died , friday at his home at the age of 73. Mr. Goodling suffered a heart attack while taking a bath and died. Nov. 30th, 1956. He was born May 24th 1883 in Meiserville, and for a number of years worked for the York Bridge Company. In 1912 he purchased the Cocolamus Grist Mill and operated that business until 1923. He then purchased the Evandale general store and conducted that business until his retirement 8 years later . Since then he resided in Richfield. Mr. Goodling served several terms as school director in Monroe Township , Juniata county. He was a member of the Richfield Evangelical United Brethren Church, Tennis Lodge No. 371, F&M Thompsontown; and the Juniata valley forest tall Cedars Lodge No. 88. He was married to Elizabeth Kay Reichenbach, Feb. 23, 1908. She survives, as do 3 sons; George H.Goodling of Thompsontown; Russell C. Goodling of Cocolamus; Richard D. Goodling of Shippensburg; 10 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren . Funeral services were held Tuesday from the Garman Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant Mills, and interment was in the Aline Church cemetery. The Rev. Stewart Bingaman , his Pastor, officiated. FYI; They were married 2/23/1908.He had WWI & WWII draft registration cards.Also known as A. C. Goodling, he & his wife Lizzie had the brick store and dwelling house erected in 1894 ,they were merchants conducting business.in 1949 the building burned down, in Evandale,Richfield Pa.
