Alan Matthew Dippold
November 20, 1943 - March 20, 2011

Alan M. Dippold, 67, of Ottawa Lake, MI, passed away Sunday, March 20, 2011, at his home.

Alan worked in Household Finance for the first 20 years of his career and computer systems for Pilkington, formerly L.O.F., for the past 20 years, retiring in November of 2011[sic.]. He was proud to have served with the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Alan recently retired as the chairman of the Whiteford Township Zoning Board. To say he was an avid motorcyclist is an understatement. Alan has ridden all his life, and was the recipient of the Iron Butt Award, riding 1000 miles in less than 24 hours. He was a member of the S.T. Owners Association and the American Motorcycle Association.

Alan is survived by his loving wife of more than 40 years, Diane Dippold; daughter, Cassandra (Christopher) Strickland; son, Eric Dippold; grandchildren, Seth and Aurora; and brother, Charles Dippold.

Friends may call at the Reeb Funeral Home, 5712 N. Main St. Sylvania, OH, Thursday March 24 from 5 – 8 p.m., where funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. Alan will be laid to rest with military honors at Whiteford Union Cemetery.

The family request that instead of sending flowers, a donation be given to the Salvation Army.

Online condolences may be offered to Alan's family at www.reebfuneralhome.com.
