Passed away Monday, November 12, 2007 at the Village of Woodland, Brighton.
She was born April 13, 1914 in Moosejaw, Saskatchewan, Canada a daughter
Of Maxwell Turner and Margaret ( Knaggs ) Reid. On May 11, 1935 she was married
To Bernard Joseph Burger at All Saints church in Detroit, moving to the Belleville
Area from Detroit in 1935. Mr. Burger preceded her in death on May 20, 1988.
Mrs. Burger was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church.
She had a fine Irish sense of humor and always enjoyed a good time and a good joke.
Mrs. Burger was a city girl that soon had to learn the farming life following her.
Marriage to Bernard. Initially they were truck farmers, later converting to cash crops.
She had a wonderful green thumb with her houseplants. She enjoyed her bird feeders.
Mrs. Burger was an avid reader. She was a dedicated wife having cared for her
Husband for 10 years in his declining years. She loved playing with her children
When they were young and teaching them to respect limits.
When she became a grandmother the limits lessened to the joy of the grandchildren.
Mrs. Burger is survived by her loving sons, Bernard Jerome "Jerry" ( Margherita ) Burger
Of Italy & Edward ( Geri ) Burger of Milford. Fond grandmother of 4 grandchildren
& 7 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her sister, Alice Witzke.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2007 from 2 – 8 P.M.
With a rosary at 7 P.M. At the Higgerson & Neal Funeral Home,
209 Main St., Belleville ( 734-697-9400 ).
Final visitation will begin at 10 A.M. Until the time of the funeral
Liturgy at 11 A.M. On Thursday, Nov. 15, 2007 at St. Anthony Catholic Church,
409 W. Columbia, Belleville. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Cemetery.
The family has requested memorial contributions to St. Anthony Catholic Church,
409 W. Columbia, Belleville, MI 48111 in lieu of flowers.
