Silas Garrett

Silas was my 3rd-grandfather. He married his wife, Elizabeth, December 3, 1817 in Montgomery County, Kentucky. They had 11 children know to me; Jeremiah Vardeman, John H., Milton Denver, Eliza Jane, Robert, Mary Ann, James Henry, Andrew Prater, Laurel, Elijah L., and William Fletcher. Silas was a farmer. There is considerable debate as to whether Silas was the son of either Robert (1750-1849) or James Garrett (1752-1852) The men were brothers who came from Virginia to Montgomery County, Kentucky where they are buried. There are respected genealogists who come down on both sides of the issue. If anyone has documentation proving the father of Silas, I would appreciate hearing from you.
