Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Christ Lutheran Church, with burial in the church cemetery, both in Jacob. Visitation will be after 5 p.m. today and until 11 a.m. Saturday at Wilson Funeral Home in Ava, and after noon Saturday at the church.
Mr. Gerler was a carpenter.
He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church.
He was born Dec. 24, 1009, in Altenburg, Mo., to Ludwig and Anna Gerler.
He married Lonie Stueve in 1936. She died in 1979.
Survivors include four sons, Milton Gerler of Gorham, Milford Gerler of Crestwood, Norman Gerler of Diamond Bar, Calif., and Harvey Gerler of Ava; one daughter, Marjorie Hanna of Jacob; two brothers, Edmund Gerler of Marquand, Mo., and Marvin Gerler of Denver; one sister, Oleida Rauscher of St. Louis; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one stepgreat-grandchild.
One brother, one sister and one half sister also preceded him in death.
