Dixie Lee Ozenbaugh, 72, Scranton, Kansas, died Wednesday, March 23, 2011, in a motor vehicle accident south of Dodge City, Kansas. She was born January 8, 1939, at Topeka, KS, the daughter of Albert Leon and Ethel Rogine Mitchell Anno.

She attended Highland Park Schools. Dixie was the owner and operator of J&D Escort Services for oversized loads. She loved life and enjoyed time with her two dogs, Harley and Petee.

Dixie was preceded in death by her two husbands, Dale Graham, Leon Ozenbaugh, and a companion, James Johnston, a son, Ronald Lee Graham, and a daughter, Glenda Diane Lester.

Survivors include five daughters, LaDonna Lee and Teresa Johnson, both of Burlingame, KS; Debbie Ewing, Hermitage, MO; Janet Seastrom, Carbondale, KS; and Cindy Ozenbaugh, Scranton, KS; numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2011, at the Carbondale Church of Christian Fellowship. Burial will be in Emmanuel Cemetery, northeast of Berryton, KS. Dixie will lie in state from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, at the Carbondale Church of Christian Fellowship, where the family will receive friends and relatives from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Dixie Ozenbaugh Memorial, and sent c/o the Kansas State Bank of Scranton, 327 Brownie, Scranton, KS 66537. Carey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
