A son of Joseph A. and Augustine (Bailot) Brandon, he attended schools in Adams and graduated from the former Adams High School.
A veteran of World War II, he served with the 849th Bombardment Squadron of the 490th Bombardment Group of the U.S. Army in the European, African and Middle Eastern theaters of operations.
Following his discharge, he resided in Pittsfield for a short time. He resided in North Adams for the past 45 years. He was employed for more than 35 years with the former Arnold Print Works in Adams and was a foreman of the folding room when he retired in 1979.
Mr. Brandon was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, Frank R. Stiles Post 125 American Legion and the Dr. George L. Curran Post 996 Veterans of Foreign Wars, all in North Adams.
His wife, the former Lena Kouroupis, whom he married April 11, 1943, died March 28, 1985.
He leaves two daughters, a sister, a brother, five grandchildren, three great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; grandnieces and grandnephews.
A son, Joseph Arthur Brandon, died Oct. 18, 1987; another sister, Alice Boody and another brother, Robert Brandon, are deceased.
