TREMONT - Laura R. Peck, 71, of Bourbonnais, formerly of Tremont, died at 3.52 am Thursday, Feb.27, 1992 at Riverside Medical Center emergency room in Kankakee.
Born Jan.7, 1921 in Tremont to Leroy and Jessie Hubbard Parkhurst, she married L. Keith Peck on Aug 13, 1938, in Tremont.
He survives along with one son, David of Peoria, three daughters, Mrs. David (Sandra) Reedy, and Mrs. Rev. David (Donna) Wine, both of Bourbonnais, and Mrs. Alvan (Janet) Clark of Ogden; one sister, Mary Barnard, and two brothers, Ralph Parkhurst and Howard Parkhurst, all of Tremont; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was secretary to the senior pastor at Church of the Nazarene in York, PA.
She was a member of College Church of the Nazarene in Bourbonnais and was active in its Sunday School. She also was a member of the American Family Association.
She was named teacher of the year of North West District Sunday School.
Services will be at 1:30 pm Monday at First Church of the Nazarene in Pekin. The Revs. Verbal Williams, David Wine and Ken Christofferson will officiate. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 pm Sunday at Schreffler Funeral Home, Kankakee, and from 11 am to 1 pm Monday at the church. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Tremont.
