Mela Arevalo, a long time resident of San Mateo, passed away on Thursday morning. Mela was an avid bridge player who enjoyed world travel and her family. She was proceeded in death by her parents, Ewald H and Matilda L Schmieder, and her first husband, Beverly A Trundle. She will be dearly missed by her husband of almost 35 years, Hugo Arevalo, her brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Lucille Schmieder, her daughter and son-in-law, Louise and Armando Lopez of Dublin, her son John Trundle of Livermore, her daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Frank Kramer of Livermore , step-son and his wife, Hugo and Beverly Arevalo, granddaughter and her husband, Jessica Mela and William Findley of Herdon, VA, grandsons Randall Hisle of San Jose and Sean Trundle of Honolulu, HI, granddaughter Elisha Trundle and her fiancé Nick Cortez of Long Beach, and great-granddaughter Charlotte Mela Findley of Herdon, VA. A Vigil service will be held at 4PM on Sunday, 6/28, at Sneider Sullivan & O'Connell's Funeral Home, 977 El Camino Real, San Mateo. A Funeral Mass will be said 10AM on Tuesday, 6/30, at St Gregory's Catholic Church, 2715 Hacienda St, San Mateo. A gift to the charity of your choice is her wish.
