Elizabeth Ann (Hunt) Felkins, resident of Talala, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2011 at her home. She was born May 12, 1941 at Leesville, LA to F.A. and Pearl (McLaren) Hunt. At an early age, her family moved to the Collinsville area, where she continued her education, graduating Collinsville High School. She then attended business school and worked as a secretary for Warren Petroleum. On December 24, 1964, Elizabeth and Larry Felkins were united in marriage. To this union, two sons were born, and she became a stay at home wife and mother, after their marriage they made their first home in Collinsville before moving to Talala in 1979. Elizabeth was an active member of the First Baptist Church, Talala, where she also taught Sunday school classes. In her spare time, she loved to garden, tending both to her flower and vegetable gardens.
Those that survive and hold many cherished memories are her:
Husband – Larry of the home in Talala
Sons – Brian Felkins and wife Paula of Talala
Scott Felkins and wife Stephanie of Collinsville
Mother – Pearl Hunt of Talala
Grandchildren – Adra, Loren, Holly and Hayden
One sister – Sarah Duncan and Husband Leroy of Broken Arrow
One brother – Jack Hunt and wife Rosalee of Fortville, Indiana
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her father and a brother Jesse Hunt.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at the First Baptist Church in Talala with Reverend Lester Orwig officiating. Burial will follow at the Wann Cemetery, Oologah. Visitation will be 6pm – 8pm on Monday, March 28, 2011 at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso.
