Dale was the son of Joseph and Maude (Woodward) Berard.

Mr. Berard served in the U.S. Army from 1950-1953, achieving the rank of sergeant first class. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

Mr. Berard retired in 1993 after 23 years with New Hampshire Distributors Co. Inc.

Following his retirement, he became involved with the development of the Fisherville Co-op, devoting many years to various positions. He was also a volunteer with the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry, always giving of his time and energy. He will be greatly missed by all that he touched.

Mr. Berard was predeceased by his wife of 35 years, Ruth (Patten) Berard in 2009; four brothers, Albert, Alcide, Emil and Paul; and a sister, Leah. A twin brother, Neil, died in infancy.

He leaves a daughter, Laurie Mailhot and her husband, Doug, of Jacksonville, Fla.; and stepchildren, Donna (Murray) Daugherty and her husband, Doug, of Penacook, Daniel Murray of Federal Way, Wash., Connie (Eseltine) Sittig and her husband, Donald, of Loudon, Paula (Eseltine) Scott and her husband, Dean, of Epsom and Carrie (Stewart) Martin of Belmont; son-in-law, Richard Martin of Tilton; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
