Ethel (Leona) Holleman, 87, of Valliant, passed away January 2, 2011.

The daughter of Charley G. and Sclina J. (Cook) Morgan, Leona was born January 31, 1923 in Tishomingo, OK. She worked for the Hardwick-Etter ammunition plant in Sherman, Texas during WWII and married Leland Holleman in Paris, Texas in 1947. A homemaker most of her life, she enjoyed quilting, gardening, reading, sewing and preparing special occasion meals for her family. Leona was a member of the Wright City First Baptist Church where for years she taught the Senior Ladies Sunday School class. Ethel will be greatly missed by her family and all that knew her.

Leona was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leland Holleman; one daughter, Judy B. Wilcox; one grandson, Kevin Holleman; three brothers, Walter E. Morgan, Alvie Lee Morgan and C.G. Morgan; three sisters, Zena E. Andrews, Dona Ruth Somers and Virgie Reeves.

She is survived by her sons, Troy Holleman and his wife, Gayle, Melvin Holleman and his wife, Darlene, Sylvester Holleman and his wife, Debra; one daughter, Freida Grantham and her husband, Cliff; son-in-law, Mack Wilcox; nine grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.


Visitation:

6 - 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Brumley funeral Home.



Service:

Funeral services for Mrs. Holleman have been set for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at the First Baptist Church in Wright City with Bro. Melvin Holleman and Bro. Aaron Strange officiating.
