Surviving are one son, James H. Powell of Parkersburg; two sisters, Amy Hathaway of Grantsville and Eva Burton of Parkersburg; one brother, William G. Powell of St. Albans; six grandchildren, Tammy Nichols of Mt. Zion, Robin Spangler of Avondale, Pa., April Haught of Harrisville, William R. Powell of Durham, N.C., Jeffry Powell of Nashua, N.H., and Jennifer Dilcy of High Springs, Fla.; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Hays Powell; one son, William R. Powell; and six brothers and sisters.
Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg, with Rev. Robert Shannon officiating. Burial was in Hays-Haymaker Cemetery, Arnoldsburg.
