TERRE HAUTE — Phyllis Kay Shields, 70, of Terre Haute, passed away on Feb. 3, 2011, at her residence. Born on July 30, 1940, west of Prairieton, she was the daughter of Estel Gilbert Shields and Lucille (Jones) Shields. She was a homemaker and retired as a receptionist at the Senior Citizens of the Wabash Valley.

She is survived by a brother, Donald Lee Shields and his wife Sue; three sisters, Wilma Shields, Annabelle Dennis and Betty Ridge; and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Judy Shields; and a brother-in-law, Charles Karnes. She was preceded in death by sisters, Dorothy Karnes and Ruby Shields; a brother, Estel Junior Shields; and brothers-in-law, Billy Dennis and Harold Ridge.

Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, at DeBaun Springhill Chapel. Keeping with her wishes, there will be no funeral services. Burial will be in New Harmony Cemetery, near her parents.
