Mrs. Johnnie Mae Howard, 78, of Earlington, KY passed away at 8:05 A.M., Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at NHC Healthcare in Madisonville, KY.
She was born August 2, 1932, in Owensboro, KY to the late John Hillman and Lillie Abel Hagan. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Oscar Howard; one son, James Keith Howard; one brother, Richard Hagan.
Mrs. Howard was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Earlington for 48 years. She was also involved with the Ladies Alter Sodality and VFW Ladies Auxillary.
She is survived by two daughters, Kathy Morgan of Earlington and Karen Webster of Lewisburg, KY; two sons, Kevin Howard and Kreig Howard both of Earlington; two sisters, Mary Helen Howard and Josie Hayden both of Owensboro; one brother, James "Skeeter" Hagan of Owensboro; twelve grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral Mass will be 11:00 A.M., Saturday, April 2, 2011, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Bruce Fogle officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Earlington.
Visitation will be 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., on Friday and 9:00 A.M. until 10:00 A.M., on Saturday at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home. A Rosary Service will be held at 6:30 P.M., Friday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Josh Morgan, Brad Howard, Kyle Groves, Brock Howard, Brett Howard, Dustin Knight, Josh Medler and Jason Melton.
Memorial Contributions may take the form of donation to the Passionist Nuns, 8564 Crisp Road, Whitesvile, KY 42378. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
