From the "Long Beach Press Telegram", Oct. 15, 1932:
"Death came today to Napolean Bonaparte Spurrier, 72, retired farmer of North Platte, Neb., at his home, 2115 Pasadena Avenue. He was a native of Salem, Iowa. Twelve years ago he retired and came to Long Beach with his family. He and Mrs. Spurrier celebrated their golden wedding anniversary March 29, 1931.
Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Mary L. Spurrier; three sons, Roy R. of Long Beach, Fred L. of Chatsworth, and W.D. Spurrier of North Platte; a brother, Frank of Scottsbluff, Neb.; two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Robbins of West Los Angeles, and Mrs. Gertrude Briggs of Independance, Mo.; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Huddle & Bonwell Chapel, with Dr. George P. Taubman officiating. Interment will be in Chatsworth."
