Grant Brunker Nicholas passed away on July 25, 2014, in Tremonton at the age of 100, surrounded by his family.

He was born January 11, 1914, to Jesse Nicholas and Grace Louisa Brunker Nicholas in Willard, Utah. He went to school in Promontory and Willard and later attended Box Elder High School.

Grant was an Army veteran, having served in the Pacific Theatre during WWII.

On December 7, 1945, he married his sweetheart, Muriel Wight, in the Logan LDS Temple.

Grant was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings including high councilman and ward clerk. He also extracted thousands of names as a Church extraction specialist. He served with his wife in the California Arcadia LDS mission and the Salt Lake Family History Mission. He and Muriel were also ordinance workers in the Ogden LDS Temple.

After retiring from Thiokol following 21 years, Grant volunteered as a reading tutor at the Honeyville School and earned the Golden Apple Award for his service.

Surviving are his wife Muriel and children: Grant (Wanda Twitchell) Nicholas, Lander, Wyoming.; Anne (LeRoy) Welling, Fielding, Utah; Elaine (Floyd) Jensen, Garland, Utah; Grace (James) Tustison, Salt Lake City, Utah; Ellen (Boyd) Cook and Mark (Carole Clouse) Nicholas, Honeyville; Nancy (Gene, deceased) Baker, Willard; Jerrold (Helena) Hogue and Barbara (Ray) Hatch, Fruitland, N.M.; 31 grandchildren and 83 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Joseph, Jesse, Wayne and Nephi; sisters Thera and Dorothy; son-in-law Gene Baker and two grandchildren, Brandon and Kyle Cook.

Services will be on Friday, Aug. 1, at 11 a.m., at the Honeyville Church, 2620 W. 6980 N., Honeyville.
Friends may call on Thursday, July 31, from 6–8 p.m., at Myers Mortuary 205 S. 100 E., Brigham City, and on Friday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Honeyville church.
Interment will be in the Call's Fort Cemetery with military honors.
