Beecher City — Mrs. Wilson (Violet Slifer) Connor of Beecher City died 11 a.m. Wednesday (Feb. 11, 1987) in Lakeland Nursing Home, Effingham.

The body was cremated. Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Sunday in United Methodist Church, Beecher City. Lockart & Sons Funeral Home, Beecher City is in charge of arrangements. Memorials: United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Connor was born in Pana, daughter of Noble and Martha Slifer. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Order of the Eastern Star of Effingham, Women's Christian Temperance Union, American Legion Women's Auxiliary, Senior Citizens Group of Seminole, Fla., and past member of the Effingham County Home Extension. She married Wilson Connor in 1924.

Surviving are her son, Harry of Lindenwood; daughter, Mrs. Earl (Carolyn) Musser of Beecher City; sister, Florence Barr of Beecher City; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.

Two brothers preceded her in death.
