Glen Carbon
Carole Ann Elkin, 65, of Glen Carbon, died at 2:42 a.m. Wednesday Dec. 10, 2009, at Kindred Hospital, St. Louis.
The funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday at Herbert A. Kassly funeral Home Ltd., Collinsville, with the Rev Ronald Habermehl officiating. A graveside service and burial will be held at 2 p.m. in Dieterich cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
Miss Elkin was born March 30, 1944, the daughter of E.H. "Jack" and Jessie (Carter) Elkin.
She was a registered nurse in the Metro East area and a member of St. Louis Jazz club. Miss Elkin graduated from Dieterich High School in 1962 and Belleville Junior College in 1965 with a degree in nursing practicing her profession for 35 years specializing in pediatrics and premature babies.
Survivors include her brother, Fred (wife, Martha) Elkin of Altamont; niece, Amy K. (husband, John) Dalbora of Edwardsville; and nephew, Jason Carter Dalbora of Shebyville.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Jacqueline Sue Elkin.
