Mr. Stegall was born December 28, 1927, in Frisco, Okla., the son of William C. and Allie M. (Baugh) Stegall. He married Mary Lou Maddox on December 20, 1948. She survives.
He graduated from Woodlawn High School and was a U.S. Army veteran (1946-47). He worked in and around the oil fields and drove a tank truck until retiring from Deimel Trucking in 1989. He was a member of Olney Southern Baptist Church and American Legion. He enjoyed his church, his family, gardening and fishing. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years Mary Lou (Maddox) Stegall of Olney; two sons, Patrick L. Stegall and his wife, Rhonda of Mount Juliet, Tenn., and J. David Stegall and his wife, Debra of Chillicothe; daughter, Marietta S. Duncan and her husband, Billy of Collierville, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Austin, Andrew, Brianna and Hannah Stegall; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and sister, Nell Marie.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Olney Southern Baptist Church.
