Funeral services for Ruth Ann Sawyer, 87, of rural Apache, was at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 14, 2008 at the Mt. Zion Chritian Church, Broxton, with the Reverent Joe Jones, past officiating. Burial followed in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of the Crews Funeral Home.

She was born at Apache on February 11, 1924 to Allie H. and Emma (Gabus) Cook. She married Ira B. Sawyer on March 14, 1938 at Wewoka, Oklahoma. They farmed and ranched in the Apache and Broxton areas for many years. Mr. Sawyer precded her in death on August 19, 2006.

Ruth was a homemaker and a member of the Mt. Zion Christian Church. She also was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by one daughter of Apache, two son and their spouses, of Apache, seven grand children, 12 great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her daughter Louise Carter, her son-in-law Dean Hatfield, two grandchildren, Brian and Brad Hatfield, and three brothers and three sisters.
