William was born to Thomas Garwood and Jane White. In 1723, his father gave him 350 acres of land in present Mount Laurel Township of Burlington County. He wed Jane Troth at Haddonfield Monthly Meeting (MM) on April 2, 1724. They lived in Evesham (present Mt Laurel) Township and had:
1) Solomon on 18 Apr 1726 (D: 1752)
2) Abraham on 26 May 1729 (D: 4 Jul 1760)
3) Jane on 29 Aug 1731
4) Sarah on 3 Mar 1733
5) Rebecca on 8 Oct 1735
6) William on 24 Mar 1739 (To PA in ~1787)
7) Joseph on 16 Mar 1745

William made a Will dated September 10, 1763 in which the land would would go to his son Joseph. The Will did not mention a son William. William sold some land to Charles Reed on July 6, 1765 and his Will was proved on May 21, 1767. Considering these facts, William appears to have died in about 1766.
