Lawrence "Larry" Laznovsky, 65, passed away at his home in Ennis on March 26, 2011.

Larry was born in Ennis, Texas to Frank A. and Mary A. (Trojacek) Laznovsky. He grew up in Ennis and graduated from Ennis High School in 1963 after graduation he attended Technical School and received and associates degree. On November 29, 1969 he married Lillian Vesely and they made their home in Ennis. He served his country proudly in the Air National Guard.

He worked for AT&T for thirty-four years as a communication technician; he also was sales representative with SPJST #135 and RVOS District #6 sales representative. He was a member of Sokol KHB of Ennis and was the President for twenty-eight years, he was the Men's director at the young age of seventeen of the Sokol of Ennis, National American Sokol President from 2000-2010, Founding Board member of Texas Czech Heritage Cultural Center in La Grange, Vice President of Czech Cultural Society, Vice President of the World Sokol Federation in Prague, Board member of the Texas Cultural Partnership, District Representative for the Texans of Czech Ancestry, Men's Director and President of Southern District of American Sokol, member of WFLA Lodge #402, President of CWA Local #6250, President of Retirees Union of CWA and Past President of the National Polka Festival.

He is survived by his wife, Lil Laznovsky: two daughters; Lisa and her husband, Nathan Vyers and Lori Laznovsky; one granddaughter; Olivia Grace Vyers; two step grandchildren Kristen and Kyle along with an unnumbered amount of friends and extended family.

A celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at 11 a.m. in the Sokol Activity Center of Ennis with Robert Podhrasky officiating. Special music will be provided by Czech and Then Some. Pallbearers will be David Nesuda, David Slovak, Gary Johnson, Jay Vodra, Jerry Wester and Sammy Pleiner. Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 29, 2011 from 6 until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis. Interment will follow the funeral service in Myrtle Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.

The family request donations be made in Larry's name to the Sokol KHB Building Fund, 4811 FM 1183, Ennis, TX 75119.
