Barrett, Robert Emmett, Col. USA Retired. Tuesday, March 29, 2011. Fortified With The Sacraments Of Holy Mother Church. Beloved husband of Frances Barrett (nee Dubuque); loving father of Sr. Ann Barrett, OSU, Robert (Sherry) Barrett, Jr., Theodore (Jan) Barrett, Mary Paspalas (Paul) Lazare, Patti (Mike) Guletz, Kathleen Barrett, John P.S. Barrett, Michael (Deborah) Barrett, Maureen (Michael) Burns, and the late Robin (Lou) Larson, and the late Jeffrey Barrett. Our dear grandfather, great grandfather, brother-in-law, uncle, great uncle, and friend to many. Bob was a Veteran of WW II, and continued his service for over 30 years in the Missouri Army National Guard, and was Commanding Officer of the 138th Infantry Battalion. He was a long time employee of the General Motors Corporation. Following his retirement from General Motors, he served as the Director of Development at the Child Center of Our Lady. Bob served on numerous boards including as Executive Director of the St. Louis Variety Club and an active member of the Serra Club. Bob was also a Knight of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem. Services: Visitation Friday, April 1, 9 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church, 243 W. Argonne Dr. Kirkwood. Interment Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the Ursuline Sisters, 353 S. Sappington Rd. St. Louis, Mo. 63122.
