Ruth E. Gschwind, 88, Risingsun, died Monday, Nov. 17, 2008, at Independence House.
She was born May 11, 1920 in Risingsun to Merritt and Ethel (Bonawit) Wonders. She married J.C. Gschwind on Jan. 26, 1940 in Angola, Ind.

She is survived by her husband, J.C. Gschwind, Risingsun; three sons, Tom (Betsy) Gschwind, Toledo; Jim (Judy) Gschwind, Oak Harbor; Jeff Gschwind, Texarkana, Texas; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Gschwind was a homemaker. She was a former Risingsun Village councilwoman.

Funeral services and visitation will be private.

Burial is in Scott Trinity Cemetery, Scott Township, Sandusky County.

Memorials may be made to the church of the donor's choice or to a charity of the donor's choice.
Arrangements were handled by Barndt Funeral Home, Wayne.
