Former Boyd Man Killed At Work

Chippewa Falls - Arthur Hamman, 25, former Boyd resident, was killed when more than a ton of molten brass was flung from a spinning mold in a Waukesha foundry Thursday.
Seven other workers were burned and taken to Waukesha Memorial Hospital. Two were reported in critical condition, five in fair condition.
M.E. Nevins, president of the Wisconsin Centrifugal Foundry, said the metal was being spun under centrifugal force to make a casting. A safety cover broke off, causing the accident, he said.
The workers, walking away from the spinning mold, were showered with th liquid metal.
Funeral services for Mr Hamman will be held at St Joseph's Catholic Church in Waukesha at 10 am today. Burial will be in Boyd in the Edson Cemetery, with graveside services Monday at 11 am.
The Tuschen-Rudol Funeral Home in Waukesha is in charge of arrangements.
