1900 Census for Missouri, dated June 15, 1900 shows she was born in "Canada, England". Father was born in New York and Mother in "Canada England"; she was born in September, 1856; married 21 years at time of census; her Thurman family had a farm in Cedar Township, Dade County. Other census records show she was born in "Canada West".

James and Josie and family moved to Skagit County, Washington in 1902 settling near Cook and Pulver Roads. Son John first came to Washington in March 1902; Clyde and Frank McKee (Addie Thurman's brother) arrived in August 1902; the rest of the family came a short time later.
