Peter Chando, a flight officer US Army Air Corps, son of Mr & Mrs Joseph Chando, 962 Wilber Ave, Phillipsburg was killed yesterday in an airplane accident at Tucson, AZ according to a telegram received this morning by his parents from Col. Ingram. There were no further details.
He Was a Member of Saints Peter and Paul Greek Catholic Church. He graduated from Phillipsburg High School in 1940.
Chando, 22, had been in the armed forces the last four years. Five of his eight brothers are serving with the armed forces and he also has two sisters.
The survivors in addition to his parents are two sisters, Mrs Arthur Miller, Washington, NJ and Mrs Edward Bredznak, Bethlehem PA. Eight Brothers, Joseph of Easton, George and Emil at home.
